Working on a class

Right now we are working with a marketing consultant, a business consultant, and are apart of a program in Santa Cruz that helps with new businesses. This program is very exciting because it is paid for by the government to promote new business owners and in return get more tax revenues, of course. We are very grateful to have this opportunity, especially since we can produce a beautiful work of art but selling it is a concept we are just learning about. In the meantime we are teaching a class at our studio where students can learn the methods we were taught in front of a model.

Our classes are on Wednesday afternoon and Saturday mornings in a beautiful place called Davenport. This area has two restaurants, a post office, a tiny store and the rest is residential. We have the beach right across Hwy 1, and behind us is beautiful rolling hills. The land along this coast is owned by many organic farms, so we get lovely food year around locally.

Call us at 831 325 3289 for any questions about classes, portraits, or to view our present works of art.

Arrival to a new country

Our story is this:
Two Artists, one from South Africa, the other from America, who met in Florence, Italy. They were studying at the Florence Academy of Art. With both a love for the figure, they studied classical drawing and sculpture for a combined 7 years. With all the Renaissance's art around them they fell in love with their surroundings and each other. Soon a baby was on the way and they both left school to begin this journey. The journey of being true to their art, to each other, and to their newest creation, a perfect sculpture, a new little boy. He became the inspiration for their next group of works: Sculpting and painting beautiful portraits of people and combining old world realism with new abstractions.

When we arrived to a very expensive area with just our suitcases, each other, and our dreams of being successful, we had to find a place to live, jobs, a preschool, and a way to survive. Thanks to so many helpful angels. We did it. We live in a tiny house with a studio out front and we are making it. A real miracle, or I should say a series of little miracles. We will keep you up to date on all out struggles and successes.
